Hello, Everyone!
I can’t believe today is July 14, 2008! Time goes by so fast at times and before you know it we will back on our hectic schedules, diving into our school and work schedules. This summer has been a roller coaster ride with more ups than down. I know every persons’ life is a roller coaster ride but there’s something about the summer season that teaches me so many life lessons. We can remember the fall, spring, and winter but summer always stands out to me as the season with the most memories. This is probably due to me always attending school throughout the other seasons and having more free time in the summer to think about the direction my life is going. At the end of each day, I know that no matter how stressful it becomes, how much more I want out of life, how many things that I have get done, how many bills I have to pay, and how many loved ones I have to spend time with, I am blessed. Life is great. God is awesome.
I started this blog because I wanted to share my life lessons and examine the events of the world with any person that is interested. So far, I’ve gotten over a thousand hits and the blog is less than 6 weeks old. I’ll admit: I was lazy the last week. I’d gone on holiday with my family and it took me a minute to get into the swing of things. Once I returned back to Pittsburgh because I needed some personal time reflecting on my growth as a person, clearing my head for a bit. What I’ve realized is that you can’t always do everything everyday. And the things that you have no control over, you have to make it work for you. I’m learning to continue the commitments that I make for myself and the people I love on a daily basis. It may seem hard but the energy that you put out there is the energy in which you recieve. I was once told that, “life gives to the giver and takes from the taker.” I can’t quite remember who said this. But it stands out because its so true. Sometimes I come home from work and I just want to crawl in my bed and let the day pass. But that’s not what I really want because I like to see how much I can get accomplished in a day and how much joy and excitement I can have through spending time with people I love. This could be the day you hear the news about something you’ve longed and prayed for. This could be the day you feel every ounce of love from your heart and mind.
I hope you enjoy the second half of summer. We’ve got some exciting things to experience in the upcoming weeks and months!
