The thing that most excites me about this album is the fact that, yes she did her won thing, you can also tell who her influences are. The good thing is, she picked some great ones. For example, Marvin Gaye, Jimmy Hendrix, and most of all Miss. Diana Ross. Solange really did er this. It’s without a doubt one of those albums you put in and let ride. Girl has been searching for her own sound for years. Better yet she has been trying to make people understand her sound for years, and now…we FINALLY…get it. My favorite track is T.O.N.Y, the meaning behind it is so real. The way the track is put together is so old school, in a good way. Not only is it a great album but Miss. Sol-Angel his put out some great live performances to back it up. She’s legit.

I actually listened to some of Solange’s songs earlier and they were very good. It’s nice to see that she’s making her own pathway into the music industry instead of following after those in the “sex sells” movement. Now Beyonce is apart of that movement and I love her to death, but Im just saying it’s nice to see something different.
